POINTCARE TECHNOLOGIES unveils its new product the AuRICA™ NOW immunology-hematology analyzer at the XVI International AIDS Conference in Toronto. The instrument will be available in early 2007.
The AuRICA™ NOW immuno-hematology analyzer is the next generation of CD4/CD4 % testing for near patient HIV monitoring. This is a portable fully automated CD4 T-cell counting flow cytometer for monitoring AIDS treatment in rural areas of the developing world. AuRICA™ NOW reports CD4 absolute count and CD4%, a parameter essential for monitoring pediatrics. Based on customer feedback worldwide, this next generation system has an expanded test menu that allows for more comprehensive care in remote environments. The turnaround time will be 5 minutes per test, faster than the original AuRICA System, with an expectation that no cold chain management is required with reagents withstanding 40 º C storage.
